Chief Of Life Formally Introduces Fractional Chief AI Officer Practice to Help Growing Businesses Put AI to Work

The West Palm Beach firm guides local companies through agentic AI adoption

The approach the largest companies use works just as well for a business with 50 employees. It just has to come from one accountable person.”

WEST PALM BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Chief Of Life, an AI consulting firm founded by operations veteran Brian Schmitt, today formally introduced its Fractional Chief AI Officer practice. Working alongside a company’s leadership on a part-time basis, Schmitt sets the company’s AI strategy, builds AI into the team’s daily work, and stays accountable for the results.

Large corporations have spent time investing in dedicated AI executives and platforms. Most mid-sized companies can’t justify that hire yet. Schmitt built Chief Of Life to fill that gap.

The firm starts by studying how a company's people actually spend their week, then identifies which routine tasks are worth handing to AI. These are usually reports, research, customer intake, follow-up emails and support questions. It then builds AI agents, software that handles those tasks inside the company's own systems, and trains the team to run them.

Every engagement promises a working agent within the first 90 days, rather than a months-long strategy phase. Clients own everything that is built, their data is never shared with other clients or used to train AI models, and the tools are designed so a company is never locked into a single AI provider.

"Every board is asking about AI strategy, and most growing companies don't have a credible answer or anyone senior enough to own one," said Brian Schmitt, founder of Chief Of Life. "The approach the largest companies use works just as well for a business with 50 employees. It just has to come from one accountable person. I'd rather show a client a working tool in 90 days than a strategy deck in six months, and I want their own team running it when we're done."

Schmitt has spent more than two decades building the systems that make companies run. He rose to Vice President of Operations at Rockbridge Seminary, an online graduate school, then served as Director of Operations at CROmetrics, a San Francisco conversion optimization agency, from 2012 to 2017. That same year, he co-founded surefoot, a conversion optimization agency, where he began building AI into daily operations in 2021. His teams have worked with brands including Chubb Insurance, Gusto, OXO and Osprey.

Brian is available for interviews, panels and speaking engagements on how businesses can put AI to practical use. In October, he was one of two inaugural speakers at "Chasing AI: The Shift to an Agentic Work Environment," a quarterly series hosted by BlueIvy Communications in collaboration with the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce. In June, he gave a live demonstration of AI agents for the AI & Technology Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, and this summer he led a hands-on agent workshop at 1909 in West Palm Beach.
